A cruise liner voyaging through the Kuiper asteroid belt transmits a medical emergency distress signal. Thousands of gays and lesbians are partying at the very edge of the solar system when an alien fungus starts transforming them into the walking dead.

Dr Ashley Forrest is the only expert on space-borne diseases within billions of kilometres. He has spent the last year working in a bio-containment research lab on a moon of Pluto, with only robots for company.

The ship's own doctor isn't qualified for anything worse than hangovers and sprains. The Bifröst cruise line wants to sweep the whole zombie thing under the carpet to avoid the inevitable one-star reviews. And all those pools, hot-tubs, bars, and chillout parties are like a sweaty petri dish for infectious diseases.

Ash has to find and quarantine the contagion before it spreads. But after a year of isolation on an uninhabited moon, can he resist the siren song of thousands of horny guys and the two-for-one happy hour deal on piña coladas?
